Hello everyone. I have a brand new computer which I just finished putting together today.
I have finished putting it together, and I even checked all my connections, maybe three times. But as soon as I go to turn it on, there's nothing.
I have it all plugged in. I have checked my sockets and the surge protector, and they all work. I go to plug in my computer, and turn it on, and nothing happens.
Pushing the on button has absolutely no effect. I have made sure I'm on 110 volt, and I have reseated my video card and my ram. My power switch is definitely connected, I tried that three times, and I have triple checked all my power connections. I don't see what it could be.
Any requests for information you have will be answered immediately. I really appreciate any help. I'm completely stumped on this one.

Possibility of the motherboard shorting out to the case? I had that happen
once and the tech support from the vendor I got the board from, had me take
it out of the case and leave the RAM, processor and Video card only in and
try to power up. It worked. A few fiber washers solved the problem.

I've had this happen with a bad power supply - bad right out of the box
(Antec). I'd start there by testing it.
Testing a power supply is fairly easy with a multimeter as long as you what
to test for (12v - 5v - etc). Google it.
But you can do the stupid-test by powering the (stand-alone) power supply,
disconnected from the rest of the computer, by jumpering the power
connections (RTM) and see if it comes on. If it don't it is pretty clear: PS
no good.
If it comes on you can also hook up a known good hard drive or other 12v
device to it and test the 12v for minimal functionality.
That's a start. Take proper static precautions.
your cpu isn;t seated properly
