Unless you're gaming, the simple answer is no. Far better to stick a
bit more RAM in it.

I was wondering if it's worth upgrading the processor speed at all.
My K7T266Pro has an athlon XP1800 with 266 bus running 1.3ghz
I can get an athlon XP 2400 with 266fsb that runs 2.0ghz both socket A.
Worth it for $43.00?
And I have a PCChips A31G with an athlon XP-M 64 socket 754 2800 running
at 1.6ghz I can replace with an Athlon 62 3200 running at 2.2ghz for
$33.00. Worth it?
Would I notice much of a speed increase? Will the motherboard take it?

I just got an nForce2 motherboard (up to 400FSB) AND an Athlon 2400+ CPU for
$41 including shipping. The chip alone shouldn't run more than $20 on Ebay.

Nope. On something that old, your luck would probably be that when
you pulled the board and replaced the chip, something would break.
don't even think about replacing the chip without pulling the board,
getting the heatsink on with the board in the case would likely damage
something, unless you have a heck of a lot of room to work.

I have no problem pulling the boards since I built the computers to
begin with. They are also on the second MB upgrades. I have changed the
fans and heat sinks already. Upgraded power supplies too.

I didn't doubt your skill. I doubted your luck. This is one of those
little to gain and more to lose propositions. Besides that, unless
your time is worthless it is probably better spent.

You're probably right.
