Default CPU Temps

What are normal cpu temps for a core2duo E6400, not overclocked.

I have graphics problems at the moment still, games keep crashing or
locking up. With the stock hs and fan, the temps were showing at around
70c using sensor view, but using intel thermal analysis tool it was
showing at aroud 50c.

So, i ordered an Arctic Cooling fan. The temp is now showing as 55c at
idle, it went up to about 60c while gaming. But, once again, the intel
thermal analysis tool is showing temps of 36-40c.

Are these temps ok?

Rest of system:

8800gt 512mb
2gb ram
xp pro sp2
775dual vsta mboard.

Update, ran the workload level to 100%o on the cpu, sensor view showed
temps of 66c and intel thermal analysis tool showed temps of 50c. :/

Download and run CoreTemp... its the most accurate CPU temperature app out
ther (AFAIK).

In general temperatures in the 40-60C range are quite OK. My overclocked
Q6600 (3.25GHz) runs at 35-55C with an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro.. the
best £15 I ever spent on PC bits!

Wow, a Q6600 and an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro for $24 is a great
deal!
