Default Compaq No sound

I have a Compaq 5bw284.
It had Me on it.
I installed XP.
Everything seemed to go fine. There are no questions marks in the
hardware list.
I have no sound. I have no driver disks for the mobo. What do I need
to do to get sound working?

That worked
Thanks

BTW I had already been to that page, but it is harder to find
something if you don't know what you are looking for.

I'm just happy when something works :-)

On my computer, I have Soundmax, but it has a couple deficiencies.
I use a separate sound card now, and that works better.
The Soundmax EAX support is not very good (in some game situations,
the sound is muddy), and the Soundmax driver uses reverberation
(echo) added during playback of sounds. I could not disable the echo
effect. I also get the odd click or pop from the speakers, and that
happens maybe every ten minutes or so. With the separate sound
card, I have none of those problems. I've tried about four different
SoundMax drivers, with no real improvement.
