color quality

i have 1.7 GH AMD processor .i just installed and updated AVG anti
virus .now my PC is working on 4 bit (colors are not working
properly) . i checked the display properties but there is no other
option except 4 bit .........i m really in a fix.can any one help me
out of this mess

Try re-installing your graphics card drivers or use System Restore to
roll back.

Check Device Manager. There could be an error message or
other piece of information, waiting for you there.
