For now. Businesses will be lucky if Microsoft doesn't consume the
server market too, if it hasn't already.

Says a nym shifting zealot who hurls insults at the slightest
disagreement.

In this very same thread, Linux Geek called Jim's comments "strange"
and "inaccurate".

Some people get a thrill out of inflicting pain on themselves.

The alligators seem to be a lot of the respondents to this thread.
Seriously, I'm a Windows XP user trying to determine whether I want to
stay with it or make the move to Linux and I find no more alligators
associated with Ubuntu Linux than I do with Windows ( to this juncture
). That's a fact.

Ubuntu 7.04 looks after that alligator for you. Just make sure Windows
is installed before Linux.

Normal.

No, you must remove one of the partitions and set up that free space as
the OS instructs you to.

If so, how do you tell the mobo to boot to that partiton when you
> want to?

This particular version of Linux will install a GRUB boot loader which
will present you with a menu each time you start your computer. At this
time you may select Windows or Linux.

I would suggest however that a little more disk space would be nice.
However, 7.04 will run satisfactorily on what you have especially where
you're using it as a learning experience. Don't expect lightning speed
but it will be acceptable.
