Default bios throttling and cool-n-quiet

My ECS KN1 SLI Extreme uses Phoenix Award Bios which offers both
Cool-N-Quiet and processor throttling. I have CNQ set to Auto and Power
Management set to "minimal power management" but I'm confused as to whether
I should have throttling set to none or to some percentage value?

You also need the AMD processor driver installed for CnQ to work. While
downloading it, grab the Power Monitor application so you can see CnQ
working in real time.

It's separate to CnQ. Use either but not both. If you leave your PC on
and idle much of the time, CnQ is the better choice.

Mike,

I have the AMD processor driver already and CnQ did work before very well.
I also have the Pwr monitor and I can see that the voltage does vary.
However the procesor fan does not change speed unlike before so it runs at
full speed even although CnQ reduces the processor voltage. This is why I
was asking about the throttling as I think this is added with a later bios.

Beemer
