Default Re: ASUS's Cool & Quiet, How to enable?

Thanks, Wayne. I hadn't changed power management to minimal. Have done so
now. The change brought up specific settings for Monitor (turn off after 15
minutes); Hard Drive and system standby (never). I have ACPI in Dev Man, not
APM. Standby before the power management change shut down HDD and put
monitor in standby. Recovery to desktop was effected by power switch. I hope
that the change of PM setting won't alter that. We'll see. Appreciate your
input.

I think it means Minimal Power, not Minimal Management. Anyway, it is
required for C&Q to work. You should see your CPU temperature drop, and if
you have a utility like CPUZ, you will see the multiplier and MHz drop
substantially.

C&Q seems to be running. CPU temp down only 3 degrees F. Vcore reading, in
Asus Probe utility, is 1.1V, now shown in a RED box, warning sound comes on,
I ignore, disable vcore reading in config. Nominal for vcore is 1.8 to
0.001.To be sure that I *had* installed drivers, I again looked into the
list of drivers on CD. The C&Q drivers are on a page labeled "Athlon 64
processor driver install shield". If that means 64 bit, I don't have that.
Must be wrong util for my proc. Will look for different version. Thanks
again for your help.

To be sure it's working, use the AMD Power Monitor

Scroll down about halfway.
