Default Asus Motherboard/Antec case sound problem - oringinal post to Asusnewsgrp

Have and A8N-E motherboard w/AC97 sound (latest drivers from ASUS
website). OS is WinXP. Antec Sonata III case (front panel sound/mic
connectors). Connector from case to motherboard front panel pinout is
one connector (no individual pin connectors), so it only fits one way.
Problem is that the Realtek Audio Control Panel software does not auto
sense the mic when plugged into the front panel - it finds it
immediately when plugged into the rear connector. Additionally, the mic
a has definite echo into the headset (using Teamspeak)- you hear
yourself 3-4 seconds after your done talking.

Any suggestions-

Thanks,
Fitz
