Make sure the ATX12V 2x2 square power connector, is connected to the
motherboard. The connector has two yellow wires and two black wires.
It carries +12V to the Vcore circuit that powers the processor.
You can see a picture of one plugged in here.

Did you put a heat sink and fan unit on the CPU? Is the CPU compatible
with that motherboard? Did you hook up the case front panel wires to the
motherboard correctly? What about correct memory? Video card?

Cheers,

Ari

The computer won't start unless you have additionally connected the HSF
(heatsink fan) connector to a fan connector on the mb.
Also the Power supply connector should match the connector on the mb. If
it's a 24 pin connection on the mb then you you need a PS with a 24 pin
connector, or an adaptor that will attach to a 20 pin connector to make it
24 pin.
A little more information might be helpful to diagnose your situation.
Are the parts new? What are the parts? Did you install a graphics card, or
are the graphics installed already as part of the mb?

Good luck here,

It would be better to give a brief run down of the components you have installed like, Mobo, CPU, RAM Graphic card and Power supply type.

The real first question that should be asked is what happens when you power up, are the fans running do they make an attempt to run?

Have you double checked everything like the retaining screws on the mobo, note some of these are used to make an earth contact with the casing.

Have you installed the CPU correctly? If you used a thermal tab instead of thermal compound between the CPU and the heat sink did you remove the backing paper from the tab first?

Have a look at this link, clicking the blue writing on the left to open the pictures Build your own computer in pictures.
