Default 2 1g + 2 512meg = good idea ??

Considering the winxp (32-bit) memory limit, would installing
2 1 gig + 2 512 meg ddr2 ram a good idea as all banks aren't
the same size? Much performance hits or none? Would the
added 1 meg really be used?

Just an idea to max out the ram if the price was low enough
& hope there isn't a penalty other on the pocket book.

There is no performance hit as long as the individual pairs are the
same. Use depends on what you're running.
