Default Wide-screen LCD and non-widescreen games

If my game supports only 1024x768, 800x600 or 640x480, would the game
screen be stretched horizontally when I play the game in a wide-screen
using 1024x768?

Yes. You can, depending on the monitor or graphics card drivers, have
it with borders round to keep the aspect ratio.

TBH though, you just become used to it after a while.

How about taking the safety labels off everything, and let the
stupidity-problem solve itself?

Thanks. But I have many old games (like Starcraft and CS). So asked
about this.
