Hi,
My Plextor px-760sa started becoming erratic etc and would not read then
finally would not even open the tray!
So I have just bought a new plextor px-880sa and loaded the plexutilities
disc but now it wont read anything else!! I get message to insert disc!
I am running windows vista ultimate at the moment but intend upgrade to 7.
Am I missing something here ,beside my mind
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Stuart.

You should be able to isolate the problem by trying to boot from the Plextor
with vista or XP installation disk. Of course set the bios to start from
CD-ROM first. If the installation starts then you know it's a software
problem and not the Plextor drive itself.

Right thanks for that. I just now managed to get it working. Not sure but I
suspect it was to do with an old copy of Nero 8 which I uninstalled
reebooted as you suggested with vista disc and bingo
Thanks.
