Default How much can I rev up my mobo/proc?

I built a new system with Asrock AM2NF3 mobo, Radeon (AGP) 800 video,
and Athlon 64 X2 dual core 600+. All is still set at default, most
stable settings in BIOS. CLock speed is 3 GHZ. IT has the stock
HS/fan, which for this proc, is pretty hefty.
What should I be able to run this mobo/proc at max, without
instability?

I have one of these CPUs and they're not that overclockable.
I can reach 3.1Ghz with a mild voltage increase, but it's not worth the
bother.

However, what I have found is that instead of running the CPU at 200FSB and
15x, instead overclocking the FSB to 300mhz and lowering the multplier to
10x (which still gives 3Ghz) gives just as big an increase in performance
without the required voltage increase.

Based as they are on the 90nm manufacturing process, these CPUs are close to
their maximum speed anyway.

Cheers!

I'd leave the H/W alone and concentrate more on tweaking your OS.
If you are using XP (or Vista) there are a lot of OS tweaks

What exactly do you mean by "max"?
