I can get MSdos partition 1 to boot ok. If I install WindowsME in
partition 2, I loose Msdos booting. If I restore the mbr to get Msdos to
boot I loose WindowsME. If I install Windows2000 in partition 3 it makes
a menu to boot either WindowsME or Windows2000 but not Msdos.
How do I get a menu that will allow booting of all three?
Why does WindowsME keep it's config files on partition 1 instead of
partition 2?

Windows 95/98/ME were actually GUIs built on top of an MSDOS kernel. So, if you
boot ME, you ARE booting MSDOS. Just open a "DOS box" window to run any MSDOS
programs.
FWIW, most DOS programs will run in a Win2000 Command Prompt window, too. You
may have to tweak the expanded/extended memory settings.

Install a boot manager into the MBR. This will present you with a boot
menu from which you can select your desired OS.

WindowsME contains MSDOS 7 so that's all you need. Install win2k and
have the option of me or w2k, works for me. I always put me and w2k on
the first drive in 2 partitions and put Linux on the second drive with
Grub. When I boot I have linux or windows grub menu, If I select windows
I get w2k or ME boot menu.
