Default virtual memory

I am using a danish cd-rom "The living history of .."

When I insert it into the drive, I get the message "the programme
requires at least 3MB virtual memory to run..".

But I have 1524 MB virtual memory - so what ca be the problem?

Thnks for any suggestions.

By searching on a portion of the error message text, I can
find solutions. Apparently there is too much virtual memory.
Each of these links makes an adjustment, but they don't always
agree on the best value.

Step one is to contact the producer of the CD to find out if they have a
newer version that addresses this (and other) problems. You _could_
reduce your virtual memory settings to some minimal amount and thus
trick the program into running but I find that accommodating badly
written programs this way is largely futile.
