Default Trouble Registering MS Office 2007

I recently purchased a new H/P desktop computer with XP Profesional os. I
have attempted to use several ot the Microsoft Office 2007 programs that
were preinstalled.

I am prompted to enter the product code which is a 25 character sequence of
letters and numbers. I enter the number and each time am told that it is
invalid.

Looking for answers on the MS website yields nothing. Can anyone suggest a
solition or information source?

Thanks!

Call HP. Maybe you're using the Windows product key instead of the
Office product key.

Microsoft. But you would be better off installing
Ubuntu/OpenOffice (for example) and avoiding all the added costs
and problems. Also read the following, in case you are thinking
Vista.

Since this is an OEM version of office you need to get a fix
or new product code from HP. While in theory anything is
hackable and you're a legitimate license owner, you deserve
a properly working, activated product and HP is required to
make it work, not MS since it is not retail.
