Default Sound Card Help

I am getting no sound from my laptop and an error message saying that my
sound card is in use.
I'm using Win XP Pro. It seems to me that another program (Media Player,
ITunes or something else)has left my sound card opened. Could this be
possible?

Any ideas are welcomed!!

You are not getting any sound from the application you are trying to use because the sound card is being used by some other application. Look in task manager and stop any programs that might be using sound. After you stop the program that is using the sound, the application you are trying to use will start working properly.

Try uninstalling Itunes to see if that is your problem or any other
program you suspect might be causing the problem.

If this will not solve the problem, you could try also to kill all the
tasks that seem using too much system resources.
