Default Intel Q963 Motherboard and Core 2 Duo

Can anyone tell me if a core 2 due processor with a FSB of 1333 will
work in a Q963 based motherboard rated with a bus speed of 1066?

The Intel DQ963FX motherboard will support 800 and 1066MHz FSB C2D
processors.

Thanks. That is what I have been reading but would the processor
actually work albeit underclocked?

A 1333MHz FSB C2D will not likely POST in any revision of the DQ963FX.

Thanks for your help. If only I had asked before I bought. RMA.

Worse things could happen... just don't open the (sealed,
retail?) box to try it as that may devalue the processor and
cause a restocking fee (if not already mandated by the
seller). I suppose if the return fee were the same either
way then you might as well open it and try it though it
would seem paying a premium per performance (since it'd be
underclocked to a lower speed) is not such a great value.
