I have two KVR 333S01GR laptop RAM sticks purchased last year -- when looking
at new laptops, how can I figure out whether or not I can use them?

Use the crucial.com or kingston.com memory configurator. Plug in the model
number of the new laptop and see what kind of memory it takes.
My guess would be, on a new laptop just released, it will use DDR2 memory.
The 1GB modules you have are DDR and are not the same thing.
DDR2 memory, at least for desktops, is relatively cheap. So cheap, in
fact, that one of the memory companies has suspended production, because
they are losing money. You can buy your new laptop, and find a memory
upgrade for it at a reasonable price.
