Default Fan Cooler Stop

Hi !
I have a pc with a new 460w power supply, a new cooler, but when i start the
machine the fan cooler starts, and after 6 seconds (+/-) she stops.

What could be ?

Thanks.

If you mean, after 6 seconds, the whole computer stops, that means the
processor overheated. Disassemble and remove the "new cooler", and
check that it was making good contact with the processor.

If, on the other hand, you are saying the power supply continues to
run, but the CPU fan stops rotating, that is harder to explain. In
that case, the motherboard may have a thermal control function for
the CPU fan header, and the computer may have reduced the voltage
to the fan, because the CPU is not very hot. In that case, check the
BIOS settings for the CPU fan, and disable any speed control function
for the CPU fan. Then, the fan should run at the full speed.

If you mean the cooling fan in the power supply stops, then perhaps the
system isn't loading the power supply enough to warrant the fan all the
time - perhaps it just comes on when necessary.

If you mean the CPU fan has stopped, then make sure you turn off the PC
pretty **** quick as the CPU will overheat within about 10 seconds and may
be damaged.

If you mean the CPU fan 'sounds' like it has stopped, then it has probably
just slowed down - this is normal behaviour and will speed up again if the
CPU gets too hot.

You need to give us more information - which cooling fan are you talking
about and has it actually stopped (visual inspection) or does it sound like
it has stopped?
