Default dvd-rw for older compaq

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a suitable DVD-RW drive to suit a Compaq Armada E500
notebook (being compaq I wasn't sure if I would need something proprietry as
is the case with some of their desktop parts). Yes I realise this machine is
old and wasn't designed to burn dvd's, but a new notebook isn't an option
right now.

If I need something model-specific let me know (hell I'd be happy with CD-RW
even).

Chris

Your older CPU may not be fast enough to run a DVD-RW burner

False, so long as the HDD and DVDRW are in UDMA mode there
is no particular requirement for a modern/fast CPU, only a
fast enough HDD.
