Default Desktop Keyboard stalls during typing .

Hello group
I just experienced something peculiar with a desktop keyboard and
that is when I press the key the cursor just won’t move and the
motherboard emits an annoying humming sound .
Hence I can’t do my typing anymore….
Could somebody teach me how to sort this out? Being more of laptop
user , I never had this experience with the notebook keyboard but only
with desktops.
TIA
Roy

Sounds like there is a key stuck - this doesn't necessarily mean a key is
physically stuck though.

Try pressing all the shift, alt and Ctrl keys a few times, then see what
happens. You might even find that a reboot sorts it out.

Thanks for your input.
I did try pressing the keys and it did nothing, lately the mouse is
behaving erratically. It suddenly stops working. Trying to plug and
uplug it did not improve anything.
I really need drastically to shut down the computer and restart it
again . But after sometime the same problem occur, the mouse just
stops working.
Is this anybody that is familiar with this particular problem and what
solution is appropriate for this?
TIA
Roy
