connect laptop with Pc no monitor

I need your help to connect my Thinkpad T42 with a PC I was given for
free. I have a keyboard but no monitor.
Is there a way to connect and operate the PC with my laptop?
Laptop is running XP Pro (sp2) Pc it does turn on and works but no

You can try remote desktop

Try google using the following terms.

winxp running remotely

You are going to need to know what operating system the pc has in order to
be able to run it. After XP is installed on the pc you might try.

Remote desktop applications will do this for you. You will need a monitor
(borrow?) to install something on the remote, screenless computer once, but
after that you can operate with no screen.
