Make a full backup of your OS partition as you should do
anyway, then delete the registry entry that loads
intelppm.sys. If a registry search does not turn up that
filename meaning it is not loading, you should not have the
problem.

I had carried out a complete cloning of the drive just in
case.........although on my other 2 machines (Intel) I just ploughed on
in.....
My registry showed up intelppm.sys and amdk8.sys in the search MRU files
which I assume was from yesterday when looking for them using Microsoft
search (find).

I downloaded KB936929 and installed it in less than 15 mins.......booted
