GA-P965-DS3 rev 3.3 F13Q BIOS issue

After installing F13Q I noticed that my CPU fan was running much louder. I
checked the fan speed using EasyTune and it showed about 2450 RPM (Arctic
Freezer 7 Pro). The CPU temp was around 54C (E8400 overclocked). I have C1E
and EIST disabled.
I reflashed back to the F13o and the fan speed dropped to a quiet 1550 RPM
while the CPU temp stayed the same or a bit lower. I used Legacy and PWM for
the fan setting in both cases, although Auto/Auto produced the same result.
Has anyone seen a similar result?

I have the same board and fan (Freezer 7 Pro). Using the F13Q bios,
the fan spins at around 1150rpm. (C2D overclocked @3.2Ghz)
In the bios the options I use are:
Fan speed control method - 'Auto'
Fan speed control mode - 'PWM'

I check the the fan speed with HWMonitor. http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php
Neat small program, from the same makers of CPU-Z, just one
executable, no install.
My temps are 30C at idle, 48 at full load. (Fan rpm rises to 1200-1500
at full load)

Thanks for the tip on HWMonitor. I use cpu-z but hadn't tried their other
utilities. Been using CoreTemp for an accurate report on CPU temps, and
HWMonitor seems to agree. I'm at 50C at idle on an e8400 overclocked to
3.6GHz (400 MHz FSB) using F13o. Fan speed is about 1400 RPM. Under F13Q it
was 55C and 2400+.
Do you have EIST and C1E enabled (those would cut temps a bit)?

I've reseated the fan several times (no mean feat with the LGA775 mount). I
guess that's just the way it goes. Maybe my hot graphics card is throwing
more heat than I thought. It's mounted so it just touches the fins on the
Freezer 7 Pro.

Yeah it is possible some video card are build heat up so much.

I have 8800GTS 320MB from Sparkle and I noticed strong heat build up by this
card. It sucks anyway.
