I haven't read a single account, of someone trying a Core2 in
an older motherboard. You can be the first.
In the Northwood/Prescott generation, there was a single pin on
the Prescott, that checked that the right kind of motherboard
was being used. Have you checked the various generations of
LGA775 pinout, for differences ? Perhaps there is a pinout
different. There might be more than a VRM/VRD spec change.
When a motherboard costs $67, like the following one, why waste
time on an older motherboard ?
