8KNXP Silicon Image and Intel RAID enables at once?

I have raid on the card not the two sata controlers

Seems to me I remember hearing when I first got the 8KNXP that it
wasn't possible to use SATA RAID with both the onboard controllers at
once.....

Do you have a recommendation on a SATA RAID controller?
