Laptop won't turn on.

I have a Gateway Solo 1450 and it will not turn on anymore. When it's plugged in, the orange light is on. I've tried taking the battery out and trying to start it and that didn't work, and it didn't work when I put the battery back in either. Anyone have any suggestions other than taking it in to get repaired?
