11/7/07 I ordered a Gateway FX530XG. Just last Sunday I developed a problem,
and was told by their Tech Dept. to reinstall MS XP Pro OS. Of corse, I lost
all my programs and files, but worst of all, Device Mgr. shows that the
following files require new drivers.
3Com Home Connect USB Camera
Ethernet Controler
PCI Device
PCI Device
PCI Serial Port
SM Bus Controler
Video Controler (VGA Compatible)
My computer came with MS XP Pro disk only, and no Application & Drivers
Disc. GTW informs that they no longer service XP OS.
Justin,
Thanks for your advise. This morning I called Gateway Tech Support again and
asked to talk to a supervisor, or a manager. That did the trick. Right away
I was promised driver and restauration disk. They should arrive in 5 days. I
was even given an order number. I have backed most of my files to an
external HD.
Thanks for your input.
