Default dvd play problem

Hi,

Any help would be appreciated. I have burned my first copy of a movie so I
would have an extra in case of loss. It copied to my computer and
completely played from my computer using the Nero 7 essentials software
provided with the Nexxtech dvd burner.
The movie was then burned on a Memorex 4.7GB 120 minute RW dvd disk. The
movie was 117 minutes long.
The burned disk played completely on my large Sony DVD player. However,
when I attempted to play it through my Nexxtech Burner/player connected to
my notebook it started to play and always stopped at 10:03 minutes and
froze. I tried it a couple of times. My notebook has 512 kb memory and
WXP. Any help?

Sorry for the trouble. I tried a new DVD+RD blank disk and it worked fine.
The source was a movie DVD. Can you tell me how I may determine what the
format the source was? An Iso file was generated as well as audio and
video files ie .bup,.vob, .ifo etc. Does that help?
How does the blank when empty indicate a 4.7GB disk and when the disk is
burned over 6.8 GB? Thanks again.
Bert

It could have been the media (actual blank Memorex dvd) to blame.
