The rip and burn button is in Start Smart, not Burning
ROM.

Old version?
I'm using Version 8, but version 9 is current.

Actually he's done what he set out to do, using Nero I
might add.
"yeah, me too now, since it hasn't happened since, and
I've been able to
write the files no prob. I can't remember what the
error message was.
Maybe Nero or the PC was just having a bad day."
He seems happy enough with the UI wouldn't you say?
It's just you Rod, millions of people think Nero
rocks.

Not old in the sense you stupidly claimed above.

Irrelevant to your stupid claim about since 5.

Irrelevant to whether its a completely ****ed UI if he couldnt initially
do something as basic as that. In spades if he had to use a rip and
burn button when he isnt doing any ripping at all.

Nope, if he was, he wouldnt have had the original problem, ****wit.

Rip and burn means rip and burn Mr Thicky, just as it
says.
If you want to rip or burn DVD/CD's then you click the
button.
To those of us with a few functioning neurones it's
obvious.

He could.
He did exactly what he set out to do, using Nero.
The error he got could have been due to any number of
things and may well have had nothing to do with Nero,
so your advice that he use a different program was way
off the mark, as usual.
Nero is tried and tested software, used by millions of
people, and far better than the Easy CD Creator (later
Roxio) crap that routinely used to hang and crash PC's
world wide.

Pity there is no button with that label in most version of Nero.

Only after the completely ****ed UI didnt make it at all clear why he failed initially.

And a decent UI would have made clear exactly where the problem was.

Use Burning ROM and there's no need, just drag and
drop, which is probably what he did.

He didn't, he got an error message that neither of us
know the origin of then tried again later and got it
done, using the UI in Nero, which he hasn't complained
about.
The only one hung up on Nero's UI is Mr Thicky Speed.

Nothing to do with the UI, which is fine for all but
the terminally stupid.

If it was a Windows or hardware error how would Nero
have made it pefectly clear Mr Thicky?

If it was a Windows or hardware error he would have
had the same problem regardless of the program he was
using Mr Thicky.

Talk about a completely ****ed UI when you cant even do something as basic as that with Start Smart.

And a decent UI would have made it clear what the original problem was and
allowed the user to fix whatever the problem was and do what he wanted to
do instead of having to ask in here how to do something as basic as that.

Everything to do with the UI when it doesnt make it clear why its refusing to do what you tried to do.

It reports the Windows or hardware error so that its clear what its claiming is that error, ****wit.
