Blockbuster same question

Is anyone renting HD DVD movies from Blockbuster are they prompt in mailng
them out?

I have been renting from them for about 2 years. I live in same town as the
distribution center, and normally if I ship out a DVD on Monday, I'll have
another by Wednesday. However, over that 2 year period there have been 3
unexpected slowdowns, where it took as long as 7 days to get another DVD
back. But that's very much the exception, not the rule.

When I take a DVD into a store to exchange for an in-store rental, it seems
to actually take longer to get another one shipped, but in the meantime I
have a DVD from the store to tide me over.

All in all I'm happier with Blockbuster than Netflix. If I rented with N. at
the same rate I do now, they would almost certainly be throttling me
heavily, based on other comments I've seen here.

I tried out both Blockbuster and Netflix. Signed up for both at the
same time about 2 months ago. I rented mostly HD-DVD movies. Netflix
was just as fast at sending out HD-DVD's as regular ones and had a
MUCH better selection of HD-DVD's than Blockbuster. Blockbuster had
about 2/3 the selection and they would list HD-DVD's near the top of
my queue as "Available," but then ship me ones from the bottom.

If it hadn't been for their in-store trade-ins, I would never even
have CONSIDERED Blockbuster. But since my local Blockbusters don't
carry HD-DVD and their online HD-DVD selection is small and slow,
Netflix ended up being a no-brainner for me. I cancelled my
Blockbuster account and went with Netflix exclusively.

If you rent mostly standard DVD's and have a retail store close to you
home, Blockbuster may be worth considering. If you rent mostly HD-
DVD's and want a selection and good speed, go with Netflix.
