For the most part, I've been using Nero Recode to compress my TV
recordings & archive my DVD's to my hard drive in Mpeg4/h.264 format. The
resulting files are small, and pretty good quality. (at about 200 Megabytes
per hour)
However, I had recently been watching some HIGHLY compressed (about 60
Megabytes per hour) RealVideo files, and noticed that they looked even
better, especially when we are talking about animated fare.
Someone pointed me to WinAVI Video Converter, saying it could quickly
convert just about anything to anything else. I downloaded the trial and
tried converting one of my Nero Digital AVC files to Divx avi.
The resulting file looks good, but there is absolutely no audio. Anyone
know if this is normal for the trial version? I see that there is a
watermark in the middle of the screen, but I'm not sure if it is normal for
there to be no sound as well.
