I've never used any video editor. Have used slideshow editors.
Now I need to start a project where I build a dvd from bits & pieces
from other dvds. May be chapters of just marking a begin & end.
Would want to take the original sound track audio along too but have
the ability to overlay, and/or mask original audio, with comments &
music.
What software would you recommend? I only need s/w that supports a
basic cut & paste, with a short learning curve and want it to be
intuitive? (using vobs). Too much to hope?

If you are just wanting to remove frames TMPGen allows frame by frame
editing
Good luck
