Default VCR DVD

Am looking to copy some videos which are on VHS tapes now to DVD's.

The unit also should be able to record from a DVR.

I have looked at big box stores but not always happy with pitches.

Not looking for super duper quality, just some ideas.

tks all

Bill,

I have the Hauppauge analog WinTV PVR-150 and 250, and I'm happy with them.
They also sell a nice little USB recorder now, that does digital too.

I am a little confused. I am hoping that you are wanting to transfer
stuff from either/or a vhs recorder and possibly a DVR to DVD?

As long as the tapes aren't pre-recorded films etc then it should be a
case of just connecting with the relevant leads (scart in europe/uk
and AV or whatever in USA?) then make sure you set the recorder to the
relevant AV input, and that's it.

If the tapes are pre-recorded you may need to buy a device which would
remove the protection from them during recording.

The Hauppauge is excellent for your needs. Just play your tape and save it
in Hauppage. You can then take it into TMPGnc and edit to what you want,
then burn usinng what ever burner suits. The Hauppauge 250 is very good.
It's only drawback is that it only receives from the player. The 350 model
will also allow you to sent your output to the TV.

Good luck

A quick glance at Newegg shows a couple of DVD decks as low as $23.99.
You might consider changing your CD deck for one of those.

This is correct, I need a stand alone so that I can play the DVD's on a
player, I do not have a DVD burner on my PC.

Tks for all your input everyone, very nice of you.

I repeat: get a DVD drive - they're cheap.
