On DVD player, there is no region code setting for user where as on pc there
are 5 times to change the region code by the user. Can someone advise the
rationale behind such arrangement.
Usually on most DVD Players you can change the Region Code, Just look up the
Model of the player and Put in change Region Code in Google and it should
come up with the Code, Usually all you do is, go to setup on the Remote, and
type in the new Code on the appropiate area

To answer the original post.
The computer drives are sold world wide and are not region specific until
you fit them to your computer. Then they lock after you have changed them
five times.
that way equals
1 r2 install for Europe
2 r1 change for DVD play
3 r2 change again local DVD
4 r1 change again
5 r2 and locked. unless you make a mistake and put another region in and
end up locked to the wrong region.
there is software that will allow out of region use. or will suppress the
changes.
