Default Problem with GSpot and codecs?

Hi there!

So anyway, I'm a newbie to all this and just wondered if you guys can help
with something...

Lately GSpot has been crashing when I try to render the video on AVI files.
Guessing this was codec related, I uninstalled then reinstalled xvid and the
K-lite codec pack but the program keeps crashing at the same stage. It
renders the audio no problems, and plays the files okay when I click the MS
A/V button - it's just the Vid 2 render button that doesn't work.

Anyone have any ideas? I've Googled around for a few hours but can't find
any helpful solution...

Thanks in advance!

john
