Default Pioneer 520h play back problem.

I'm hoping someone can help me with this. When I transfer from my hard
drive and burn a DVD, it will play fine in my 520-h. The problem seems
to be when I play the disc in an older pioneer DVD stand alone player,
the content plays back as though it is a wide screen
image.........EXCEPT instead of being spread out with bands at the top
and bottom of the screen, it is a very narrow picture, with thick
black bands on each side of the image. Anyone ever encounter this
before, or know how to fix this. Thanks
Please post your response here in the group, and if you don't mind,
send a copy to my email.
Thanks

Have you tried the discs in another player? I had a recorder a while
back and the discs played fine on just about everything, but on my
daughter's machine they only played sound. I'm wondering if it is
actually the player itself, rather than the recordings.
