Default Overseas DVDS won't play after copying them

Hi,

I bought some dvds overseas in Sweden (PAL) that I want to play on my
North American
DVD Player (NTSC) without the issue of region encoding. I copied a
dvd to my harddrive
and burned it to dvd and it runs fine on my computer. The region
warning is gone.
When I put the dvd in my Philips home dvd player (DVR-3050V) the
picture is obscured
by rolling bands, large bands, that roll up and down the screen. The
dvd plays normally
in 2 other dvd players I own (Sanyo/Emerson) one of which I thought
was lower quality,
integrated into a tv combo.

How can I make the dvd play normally in my home Philips dvd player?
Do I change a
setting in the player or in my software?

Software used: DVDCopy Fab, or Arc Dvd Copy with AnyDVD dumped to HD.

Copy the PAL disc to the hard drive.

Use NeroVisionExpress 3 to create a new DVD Video from
those files. At the bottom, click More to see the Video
options where you can select NTSC. Then burn the image
back to another hard drive folder.

Then use Nero 6.6 to burn the actual DVD from those
files created by NeroVisionExpress.

I can get my hands on Nero Express 7 and Nero Burning ROM 7.
Is that the right program mix? Will it work or should I chase down
older versions?

Thanks..anxious to give it a go.

Do you know if this will preserve the menus and subtitles ?

Dunno about NE7, but you're gonna need NeroVisionExpress to
convert and reburn the files as NTSC, so you will need a COMPLETE
Nero package to get that, I believe. My Nero 6, with updates thru
6.6, comes with an install file for NeroVisionExpress too.

I'll give it a try, hope it works. Think it will include the
subtitles though?
