Default LifeView Ultra TV Walker External USB software crashes HELP!

Hello groups,

A couple of years ago, I bought a LifeView Ultra TV Walker External
USB. It works fine for viewing, no complaints.

It's the included software when I try to record shows that is lacking.
It almost always crashes within an hour or two when recording. I want
to use my PC for recording TV shows now, so I want to solve this
problem, finally.

What's almost as bad, is this included TV recording and viewing
application allows only one unnattended recording. That is, I can't
pre-program more than one show.

Some PC facts:
This tuner has been used on two desktop PCs and one laptop PC. The OSs
are/were Win 2000, XP-SP1, XP-SP2. Exactly the same crappy behavior.
Therefore, I'm sure it's the hardware/software mix, or plain poorly
designed hardware.

Does anyone have experience with this hardware, and can recommend
better/stable recording software for the PC?

Thanks,
JB
