How to dub dvd player to dvd recorder

I would like to hook up my sony dvd player to my Panasonic dvd
recorder....how do I go about doing this? I know it's a stupid question,
but I am new to all this

in Europe we would just connect scart to scart and it would work with rgb or
video as selected on setups.

if no scart then the best way would be s video to svideo or connect video
out on player to video in on recorder. same for sound.
