Default How to convert a VC-1 mkv file to a DVD-Video or a mpeg4 for astandalone DVD player?

Hello!
How to convert a (1920x1080, 19500-20000 Kbps, 23.976 fps) VC-1 mkv
file to a DVD-Video or a mpeg4 for a standalone DVD player?
The 65mb video can be downloaded from
http://rapidshare.com/files/95088346...ample.mkv.html
The ConvertXtoDVD 3 cannot find a decodable video stream in the file.
The topic which shows that nobody knows how to make ConvertXtoDVD 3
find a decodable video stream in the file:
http://forums.vso-software.fr/how-to...197.html#30129
Nero Vision 5 cannot convert a 23.976 fps video with two audio
streams:

You can use VirtualDubMod to remove any unwanted streams,
and direct stream copy to .mkv , this way the remaining streams
are unaffected.

I was assuming the Nero Vision 5 can convert a video
with one audio stream; even if it "cannot convert a 23.976
fps video with two audio streams". If you meant to say that
it won't convert any video with a 23.976 fps frame rate, or
with two video, two audio, and two text streams; then it
would have been better if you had said so.

For a program to decode the video, it must have access
to the proper video codec - WVC1 in this case.

WVC1 a.k.a. "Windows Media Video 9 Advanced Profile"
A decoder for WVC1 is included in Windows Media Player
11, which is bundled with Windows Vista and is available as
a download for Windows XP.

Luck;
Ken

Is VC-1 the same as WVC1?

There are several versions, including "third party" versions
of VC-1:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VC-1

Why then Windows Media Player 11 cannot playback the VC-1 file?

Actually, it should. I'll download the file again and make note
of the decode filters used when I play it with Media Player
Classic (MPC). I'll check it with TMPGEnc encoders, as well.

Back soon, it's downloading now.

Luck
Ken

You should get the Haali Media Splitter and Video Renderer,
if you are not already using it.

What operating system are you using? I am approaching this
as if you are running under Windows XP.

Since you have Media Player 11 installed the proper codec
should be registered already. ( If it also means that you have
Vista as your operating system, I can't be of much help.)

Get a copy of "GraphEdit". You can find a download through
the tools listing for it at www.videohelp.com

Drag&Drop the video file onto Graphedit and it should create
a filter graph with the DirectShow filters/components needed
and on hand to play the file. If you have the "WMV9 Advanced
Profile Decoder" installed on your system it will be in the graph.

Luck;
Ken

Hello Ken!
Graphedit showed 4 boxes:
1. Planet.Earth.01.From.Pole.to.Pole.2006.HDDVD.Remux .
1080p.VC-1.Rus.Eng.mkv, Output
2. Input, Nero Splitter. Audio
3. XForm, In Microsoft MPEG-1/DD Audio Decoder, XForm Out
4. Audio Input pin (rendered), Default DirectSound Device
What should I install for a CovertXtoDVD 3 to find the video in the
file?

Dmitry
