How to combine DVD and DATA on one DVD? (Hybrid DVD)
I need some help here:
Does anybody know how to burn a common DVD movie (VIDEO_TS + AUDIO_TS
folders) and some data files, mpeg files or whatever both on one DVD? This
sort of DVDs used to called Hybrid DVD as far as I know.
Google didnīt help me.
Has anybody some experience with these so-called Hybrid DVDs?

In the event no one reports any actual experience, I would try this:
add a new folder (*not* named VIDEO_TS or AUDIO_TS) to your compilation
and put the extra files in there. Then burn it and try to play it in
your DVD player :-)
Use a read-write DVD blank to save money...

Re: How to combine DVD and DATA on one DVD? (Hybrid DVD)
Mmh, I tried it NERO, but NERO refused to accept a data folder or any other
files apart from AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS.
Then I tried to burn a data DVD containing the folders mentioned above. The
result was that my DVD player didnīt recognize the DVD as a movie DVD....
Same sh.. with other programs I tried.
How did you make it with NERO?
Could you tell me in detail?
Thanx anyway

Thanks for the info - I have Nero; I wonder if the OP does?
Of course, as is obvious, I've never needed to do it :-)

Re: How to combine DVD and DATA on one DVD? (Hybrid DVD)
Finally I found a program which does all the things I want it to do.
Itīs IMGBURN
Not only does it some other smart works, itīs f o r f r e e as well :-)
With IMGBURN you can add as many extra files and folders to the VIDEO_TS and
AUDIO_TS folders as you like. The only bad thing about it is that it takes
about 30 minutes to format the DVD before the burning process starts. The
result however seems to be compatible to most of the standalone players.
Anyway, it worked on all I tried out.
Now I have a nice DVD directory with data folders for the PC users, and the
two _TS folders for the movie / DVD players.
BTW, I found out that (in TMPGENC DVD AUTHORīs writing section e.g.) you can
simply add any data files to the vob-files in the VIDEO_TS folder.
Standalone players donīt seem to care. Itīs a far less elegant and
professional solution, though, I think. But it works, too.
Anyway, thanx for your help
