Default Do all DVD players play VCD?

Quickie: What percentage of DVD players will
play VCD (video cd) ?

(mine will but I want to send vcd to friends)

This falls into the "how long is apiece of string?" It would depend on which
country you live in, how many different brands are marketed etc etc etc. My
guess is a large majority of newish machines would handle VCD's and a
smaller number DivX. Do a straw poll of your friends?

Probably all, its svcd thats usually an issue.

a lot wont if you go to vcdhelp.com

as DVDs are so cheap, why send a vcd?

Thanks. Good site. Says 94% do VCD's.

Ain't got no DVD recorder. Maybe I'll go get one.
I didn't want to pay $1,500 but now they are $30 :-).
