I have windows XP Media Center edition, HP Pavillion Media Center
Edition, that came with a dvd/cd player recorder.
When copying a movie using DVD Shrink, on both a DVD-R disk and a DVD-
RW disk, the newly created disk showed the movie without a problem on
the computer using several DVD playing software programs, including
POWER DVD.
However, when I removed the newly created disk from the computer and
inserted into two separate DVD players attached to a TV set, the disk
showed garbage on one player and on the other player it did not play
at all, but an ERR message appeared on the player.
Apparently I have done something incorrectly. Any thoughts on what I
should have done?

The first question would have been did the disc actually get
finalised? It has to be finalised to play on any other external
devices, but it would play fine on the machine which created it.

The next question is whether your DVD player supports -R. I use -R and
have never had a problem, but your DVD player may be different.

Yes, specially the one that just says ERR.

note to good people who replied to my questions:
Problem solved, but solving created additional questions.
I remembered this afternoon that this problem arose only AFTER I
deleted Nero vsn 7 and installed Nero 8 Ultra.
I therefore uninstalled version 8 and re-installed vsn 7 and yes, you
guessed it, after repeating the same copying steps, the new copy
worked perfectly on the
regular dvd players as well as on the computer.
The new question, therefore, is what is there in Nero 8 that caused
this problem?

Yes, I did pay for Version 8. However, I purchased it at Fry's in
Burbank, CA under a 100% rebate offer. Is whether or not I paid
for version 8 relevant to having version 8 work properly. ?
Best, Aaron

No, Aaron, but for the reason you stated. If it's as bugged as it
seems to be I'd certainly want a refund.
