Default Burning movies to DVD DL

After I burn a DVD move to a DL disc (using Nero 6), it freezes up at about
1:05 - 1:15, my guess is that its right around where the layer break is.

Does anyone have any suggestions how to avoid this?

This used to happen to me (on commercial disks, no less!) until I
replaced the player (a couple of years ago). The old one was a Pioneer
set-top box, the new one is a Sony.

Naturally, I can't be sure if your problem is the same...

Another stab in the dark, then :-)

Try different DL media or different software to burn your disks.

If you don't want to waste a lot of money, see if you can find a trial
version of some burning software. This won't save money on media,
unfortunately :-(

It might be easier to play the trial software game if you burn the
offending DVD to an image (.iso) file and burn from that with different
programs.
