Xilisoft DVD Ripper Platinum - Conversion

Hello,

I just purchased Xilisoft DVD Ripper Platinum and am transferring my
DVDs to .WMV for use in Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. However, the
conversion rate is incredibly slow. For a five-minute clip, I let it
wait one hour. When I returned, the progress was at roughly 45%.
What am I doing wrong? Should the conversion be taking this long?
Would it be better to export it in raw .AVI for video editing?
