Default Shrink a DVD to HardDrive with menus, etc

x-no-archive:
Is there a way to shrink a DVD with menu's etc, to my hard drive? I
like to listen/watch music concerts while working on the PC travelling
but want to keep menu's etc, and sound quality.
I have DVD shrink, but I hazard to say it doesn't shrink it enough.
For example I have a 6 Gig DVD, that I can only get to 50% (3 gigs)
when in fact I want the WHOLE thing to be about 500-600 megs (if
that). I just see it as overkill to have them too big on my PC since
it is only in a corner of the screen (or full screen at most)
Ideas? suggestions?

Sounds like you want to convert your DVD to DviX
http://www.divx.com/divx/advanced.php

ConvertXtoDVD version 3 will shrink the whole content down to a normal disc
size as a set of files that you can either keep on your hard disk or burn to
DVD-R - BUT you will lose the original menu but not the titles or chapters.
Otherwise go to the forum at www.videohelp.com and ask your question.

Basically what you are asking for is a replica of the DVD with all it's
attributes but limited to 500Megs - sorry that is impossible. You could
select just the movie sans menu but with the chapter navigation points
intact or you could convert the movie to DivX at around 700MB with good
picture and sound - no menus, no chapters.

Maybe you could use

RatDVD
http://ratdvd.ca/

RatDVD takes a full featured DVD-9 movie and puts
it into a highly compressed .RatDVD container format file
of about 1.x GB in size while preserving all the features
of the original DVD
