Random WinDVD and PowerDVD freezes with various DVDs.

Hello.

In WinDVD v7 and PowerDVD v7, I get random freezes (no specific areas
and DVD-ROM light not stuck and blinking) with old and new DVD releases
(used Ant Bully, Bourne Supremacy, Heroes Under Fire (Shadow Warriors);
used and brand new DVDs). Nothing logged in Windows XP's event logs
about the freezes.

Here is what I noticed:
-WinDVD 7 freezes. Sometimes have to kill it due to no responses.
-PowerDVD 7 freezes. Sometimes have to kill it due to no responses. One
time, I ejected the DVD and Windows blue screened (nvdisp).
-Tried upgrading to newest beta NVIDIA driver. No help.
-Never had problems installing from CDs and DVDs, and playing MP3 files
off my CD-Rs.
-No problems playing AVI (DivX), FLV, QuickTime (MOV and HDMOV), WMV,
streaming videos, TS, and MPEG (1 and 2) off the HDD. This is for all
players.
-Seems like no problems with Media Player Classic v6.4.9.x from K-Lite
Codec Full Packs.

I still have more ideas to test:
-try non-DVD in WinDVD and PowerDVD.
-try WMP10
-try VLC
-rip DVD to HDD and play from there in WinDVD and PowerDVD.

Only time I have noticed this (3Ghz Processor, 1MB Ram) is if I have
some other program running that is doing something and the freeze then
was has been only intermittant.

Heat problem, older DVD player with worn belt( (or are they gear
driven)?

The problem seems to be gone now. I will follow-up if it resumes again.
